Veluvali is the surname of an Andhra Niyogi Brahmin family. The veluvali families resided in the Godavary river delta basin, now known as Konaseeme area of East Godavary District, Andhrapradesh state, India. Veluvalis were by profession village surpanches (Karanams), that is village officers who keep the land records of landowners of the particular village. They used to settle common land disputes, and collect annual land revenue, which they used to deposit in the treasury. As per legend the the posts of Karanams were given to Veluvali family members by Golconda Nawab in the 16th century. Later the coastal districts were ceded to the British government who continued with the same village administration system.

Our Veluvali family history as per the available information starts with One Mr.Veerasankaram, who was a Karanam of Kandikuppa village in the Konaseema area.
